I've succesfully:

Installed simplesamlphp_auth
Gotten composer to install simplesamlphp package
(Standard SimpleSAMLphp configuration happened here)
Enabled simplesamlphp_auth based auth
Logged in using federated login
Logged in using user 1 account by allowing it as a local user.
Uninstalled simplesamlphp_auth
