when there is a cynkratemplate update?

Something to think about.

The problem would not just be triggering a new build (which updates the dev website if the package uses automatic deployment mode) but also, maybe, to update the released website. For reference https://pkgdown.r-lib.org/articles/how-to-update-released-site.html

It might also be not important at all, but wanted to make a note of this somewhere.

Should this be an action in this repository?

With a fine-grained PAT that'd have write access to all the repositories 🤔 (although that means that for each new package, the PAT scope would need to be updated -- probably fine if it is in a checklist somewhere)

It'd be handy if all pkgdown GHA workflow in the cynkra organization had a manual dispatch.

Then there could be a workflow here using https://docs.github.com/en/rest/actions/workflows#create-a-workflow-dispatch-event
