Hi Andrew,

SG is super useful tool as you know already. I noticed it's not update for quite some time. Can you be honest and tell me if you have somethings on your mind which you think it need to be added to SG to make his functionality even deeper. Or do you know even other/similar tool which do same with more functionality or which have something wich SG doesn't have.

Also, do you have plans on updating SG, and if yes can u share ur vision ?

Peace,

Hey @shtefcs, I updated it fairly recently to be written in CoffeeScript and have a Chrome extension. What other sorts of updates did you have in mind? I'm very open to pull requests!

idk Andrew, thats why I asked u is there anythings u have in plans that need to be done ? I am not developer, but might hire someone to do it. IF u have something in ur mind which u think it will give SG new feature, but u dont have time to work on it, share it if u dont mind.

Well, there are a few directions that it could go:

  • Replace the :content("foo") results, which are no longer valid CSS (but working jQuery), with a new matcher.
  • Continue to refine the algorithm so that it generates even better results.
  • Use the wizard.coffee flow to make multi-step site parsers.
  • ... something else?

ok, tnx for suggestions. I gonna use SG for scraper app, so thats why I am asking. I can't say yet what is missing cause I didn't test it enough, but I will forward this to my developers and let you know as well if I find some issues or get idea for new features.

Peace,
