create_worker stopped working on development version. Bug or API change?

Hi!
On the development version from git (Head at commit be12eec) the simple webworker example from the Brython website doesn't work anymore, throwing:

worker.create_worker("worker", onready, onmessage)
RuntimeError: No webworker with id 'worker'

worker script was defined using:

<script type="text/python" class="webworker" id="worker">

(identical code to the origin i took from https://brython.info/gallery/webworker_mdn.html)

BTW, It does work on 3.12.3 and previous versions.
I don't know what's the policy about issues on the development branch so I'm posting this as a Q&A and not as a bug since it might also be some unfinished change in API planned for 3.12.4 (??)
