Describe how to replicate the issue

1. create the Docker container using the following command:

docker create --network=host --privileged --name=rtsp -v opt/rtsp/rtsp-simple-server.yml:/rtsp-simple-server.yml aler9/rtsp-simple-server

2. copy the "rtsp-simple-server.yml" to /opt/rtsp/rtsp-simple-server.yml
3. modify the "/opt/rtsp/rtsp-simple-server.yml" as follows:

# sets the verbosity of the program; available values are "warn", "info", "debug".
logLevel: info
# destinations of log messages; available values are "stdout", "file" and "syslog".
logDestinations: [stdout]
# if "file" is in logDestinations, this is the file which will receive the logs.

4. plug in the USB camera (/dev/vidoe0) and start the docker container
5. attempt to connect from VLC using the URL rtsp://192.168.15.60/cam
6. view the Docker logs (docker logs rtsp):

Hello, the problem is that ffmpeg is not present in the docker image; see here for instructions on how to generate a Docker image with both rtsp-simple-server and ffmpeg
