@user-is-inactive-forever

Dear David and others,

I am working on the LuaTeX part of the bidi package and I expect to have the bidi package working with the LuaTeX engine in about a month time when I will be releasing the new version of the bidi package to CTAN. Whenever that happens, I will announce the Luabidi package as an obsolete package since the bidi package should work with both engines. I will be doing exactly the same thing with my xepersian package which means that the package simurgh becomes obsolete.

Best wishes, Vafa Khalighi

Vafa glad to hear that you are able to keep working on bidi.
I would ask that you push any bidi updates to the bidi-tex/bidi repo here, it makes it less confusing for everyone, especially ctan, if there are not multiple copies

As mentioned before, I have been working on the bidi package replacement for LuaTeX engine (biditex). I expect to release the initial version at the end of July. The package biditex will make package luabidi obsolete as it is a full replacement for the bidi package for LuaTeX engine. When it is released, the higher level packages polyglossia and babel can rely on the biditex package for bidirectional typesetting.
