Hi,

The TPS65217 is not available anymore, how can we replace it ?

According to TI the TPS65217 is still active.

... my distributor show me that 4.274 parts are available.

The entire semiconductor industry has availability problems, that's not something to be reported as a bug on a design.

You can use either the TPS65217C or TPS65217D, anything else would require a substantial redesign of the schematic and PCB and modifications to u-boot and the device tree.

I agree it's not a bug, but you can't built anymore beaglebone black if you don't have the component ...

Maybe it's time to create a new design ?

Again, there are availability issues throughout the industry. We have the same problems with tons of different parts from many different manufacturers, and we currently have to order parts for delivery years from now. If you're lucky or have good contacts you can sometimes find a supplier that happens to have the parts you need, but you won't always be lucky.

The TPS65217 is an active part, and it's likely any alternative would have similar issues. Farnell is showing they expect to have the TPS65217C and D available in mid 2024, while the most obvious alternative PMIC, the TPS65218, isn't even in their catalog.
