I disabled FileVault prior to upgrade as suggested, however when trying to re-enable it once Big Sur is installed, I get

Filevault Failed
An internal error has occurred.

Any ideas?

You're not supposed to turn FileVault back on. Leave it off.

Hi! It was never stated in the that FileVault should not work after upgrading - is there any fix for this as I believe strongly in the use of FileVault / Disk Encryption.
