I regularly want to spellcheck in English, Spanish and French, and the only way to switch between one language and another is to change the "Locales" field in the settings. I don't want to let the three languages there, because it would not detect a misspelled word that exists in another language.
Ideally, there would be a switch available on right click / contextual menu, or in the status bar in the bottom of atom.

If anyone does work on this, I have an idea of how to implement it to allow plugins to decide the language for a given buffer. That way, we can have Markdown+YAML have it in the headers, or have it scanned from the filename (chapter-01.en.txt), or other methods.
