Pointers on how to make a roaster compatible with artisan

Hello,

I built my own Roaster (that I plan on open-sourcing in the near future) and it has:

• 1 temperature sensor (outputs in C)
• 1 adjustable fan controller
• 1 adjustable heating element
• 1 light

Right now the device is wired and outputs a COM port. I would like to know what is the easiest way to integrate it with artisan (I want artisan to be the only way to control it so I'm happy to adapt to anything)

Eventually I want to have the device on the network, what is the easiest way to integrate a networked device to Artisan ?
