Blacklist / whitelist of html tags & classes?

So far tinynav has been great to use (and still is!). I recently came across a scenario that I was wondering how I might tackle.

I have an unordered list of links. Inside of link tag there is a some hidden text to help with accessibility. In the drop-down generated by tinynav I'd like to keep that nested class out. The isn't showing but the text is. That's making the drop-down values rather long.

Any ideas?
