First of all, I want to thank you for this software, which has become an indispensable part of my daily life.
I know you're on hiatus right now but for me a really useful feature would be variable speed playback. I mostly use the app for listening to audiobooks with Kanjieater's tool, and it is a fantastic mobile solution for that. When making the subtitled audiobooks, I generally speed them up to 1.15 to 1.2x (15-20% increase) in Reaper, then run the python script on the sped-up file.
But sometimes I would like to adjust the playback speed in the middle - 1.3x if straightforward, 1.0 times if lots of new words, etc. It might also be useful to slow things down as well. If the video/audio playback engine is based on VLC it may have this functionality built in, but perhaps it would be a bit tricky to properly also scale the subtitles so they stay in sync with variable playback.

Thank you for considering!
