To read list of Namedselections from *.res file

I wanted to extract the list of namedselections (both bodies and faces) from the CFX results file, and I have implemented this script facing some challenges. Is there a better way to do it? Kindly refer to the script I tried

def load_model(self):

	# Set results file path
	data_sources = dpf.DataSources()
	data_sources.set_result_file_path(self.resultFilePath)

	# Read info from results
	self.model = dpf.Model(data_sources)
	self.results = self.model.results
	self.metadata = self.model.metadata
	self.mesh_info = self.metadata.mesh_info

def getNamedselections(self):

	if self.mesh_info is None:
		return

	bodies = self.mesh_info.bodies
	face_zones = self.mesh_info.face_zones

	for key, value in bodies.items():

self.resultFilePath = r'../../CFX.res'
self.load_model()
self.getNamedselections()

Hi @VinodPichamuthu, thank you for your interest in using PyDPF with CFX results.
I'll take a look at your script and see if this is doable as-is, as we are always interested in knowing more about usage of our library, especially with CFX where we have not had much feedback.

Just to be sure, could you please confirm what the equivalent is in CFD-Post or CFX-Pre?

Taking the .res file given by ansys.dpf.core.examples.download_cfx_mixing_elbow(), we get the following names in CFD-Post:

Now, using the following script based on yours, we get the following output, where we can indeed see a difference:

resultFilePath = examples.download_cfx_mixing_elbow()

data_sources.set_result_file_path(resultFilePath)

mesh_info = metadata.mesh_info

bodies = mesh_info.bodies
face_zones = mesh_info.face_zones

Output:

Body: 1 Default 1

I'll check whether this is expected.
