when tag-it enabled bootstrap tabs doesn't work any more

I'm using Bootstrap 2.3 and the newest version of tag-it running on a Django Application. Recently we've upgraded from django 1.8 to 1.11.
On that page I had some bootstrap tabs with the tag-it plugin and everything worked fine until we upgraded to django 1.11. When I click on the tabs nothing's happening :\
