Addition of a build system generator

I suggest to reuse a higher level build system than your current small make file so that powerful checks for software features will become easier.

Please can you be so kind to file a formal PR (pull request) with a working(!) and tested(!) code, which can be added to the present methods. After having filed a first version, you will still be able to modify your version (for example to add further code, to fix smaller issues). When uploading a revised version, the PR is automatically adapted accordingly.

Sorry, but I don't have the knowledge, and also don't have time to implement a higher level build system at the moment.
