Mac mini M2. The utility seems to only set 5 values from left to right. Is it possible to enable better control of the balance?

./sndctl -b .4
./sndctl -B
Balance: center

./sndctl -b .35
./sndctl -B
Balance: 0.28

./sndctl -b .2
./sndctl -B
Balance: 0.28
