Tenjiku Shogi is a 16x16 chess variant that is essentially a more beefed up version of Chu Shogi and Dai Shogi but good lol.
Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenjiku_shogi

Here's a summary of some of the new pieces introduced in this variant:

  • The Great General, Vice General, Rook General and Bishop General have special ranging moves where they are able to jump over any amount of pieces to capture one of them hiding in the back. There are some pieces they cannot jump over however.
  • The Lion and Queen have promoted variants, those being the Lion-Hawk (Lion + Bishop) and the Free Eagle (Queen + Diagonal only Lion)
  • You get 4 Chariot Soldiers and they all promote to the Heavenly Tetrarch. A mobile piece that can jump over or igui adjacent pieces.
  • And the big brute of them all, the (two) fire demons! They burn any piece that is adjacent to them.

So yeah, there's that. BTW if the big boards are becoming an issue for viewing, (Which I can defs see for Tenjiku) I also suggest adding a feature to zoom into the board for better viewing. Might make a separate issue explaining that in more detail soon.

Btw I already have an FCZ set ready to go if you're in need of piece sets.

Any Chu Shogi set can be reused as a base, there's only 16 new piece designs to make. (Or about 27 for normal + promoted pieces and 54 for N+P but for each side.)

Horned Falcon and Soaring Eagle promote to Bishop General and Rook General, respectively.

Realised that when compiling the pieces into seperate SVGs lol, same with the flying generals' jumping hierarchy so that is now shown too lol.

Jumping hierarchy is how certain flying generals can't jump over other fliers.

Note that the jumping hierarchy also includes the King and Prince, both at the highest rank.

Their recognition as royal pieces helps identify that they cannot be jumped over by flying generals, so they're all good.
