Rework external dependencies

Some of our components use external roles, which we have included in this repository in the roles/ext directory. However, we can also depend on these roles using the install_role roles. One difficulty with this is that these external roles presently require some changes to work with the outdated version of ansible on SRC. Once ansible has been updated on SRC, we can refactor the dependencies.
