THINGS TO DO AFTER INSTALLING DEBIAN JESSIE:


ADD TO SUDOERS FILE: 
open leafpad as root
 /etc/sudoers
username  ALL = (ALL) ALL


FIREWALL:

sudo apt-get install gufw

Enable 32bit Architecture:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install netselect-apt

sudo netselect-apt

COPY RESULTING SOURCES TO SOURCES.LIST

ADD CONTRIB AND NON-FREE TO SOURCES

Add deb-multimedia to sources


RUN : sudo apt-get update


sudo apt-get install gdebi gksu firmware-linux firmware-linux-nonfree intel-microcode


DRIVERS:

sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig

sudo nvidia-xconfig

*** REBOOT to enable Nvidia drivers


sudo apt-get install psensor clipit redshift caffeine smplayer kodi openshot shotwell rapid-photo-downloader

EXTRA SCREENSAVERS:

sudo apt-get install xscreensaver xscreensaver-gl


Install Wine etc.:


sudo apt-get install wine playonlinux


Enable flash in iceweasel:      sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree  

Enable flash in Chromium:    sudo apt-get install pepperflashplugin-nonfree

Enable Java applets:     sudo apt-get install icedtea-plugin


APPLICATIONS:

sudo apt-get install file-roller rar unrar 


FOR XFCE:

sudo apt-get install pavucontrol    (Pulseaudio volume control)

ADD THEME SOURCES:


Install Arc-themes

sudo apt-get install faenza-icon-theme

FONTS:

sudo apt-get install ttf-freefont ttf-bitstream-vera ttf-dejavu ttf-liberation


Cleanup desktop/panel

Add themes/icons

Change wallpaper
