We want to clarify requirements for sources for different kinds of papers: survey, in-depth algorithm coverage, etc. Pick some examples.

That would be a nice idea. Are you thinking of adding a Markdown page to this repo that linked to those, or using the wiki on this repo, or…?

And presumably we should do the same with slides, right?

Incorporated the changes for Spring 2019 and beyond: references aren't counted towards the length; added options for a "deep dive" and "broad overview".

Still need to link some examples, but the description now mentions different options.
