corrupted .jar file after editing

after I have edited the file to contain the items i also want to have dynamic lights my game just crashes without report and if i dubble click on the .jar file it says "Error: Invalid or corrupted jar file"
Is there any way i can fix it because i really need a dynamic lights mod.

ps. could it be because i want to add dynamic light to an item from another mod?

That's a first, adding additional items should not corrupt the jar file. What tool did you use to archive the files after editing?

I just used the Microsoft zip program.
Should I have used 7zip?

That should be fine. You normally don't need 7zip. Could you attach your most recent minecraft log? (e.g. using mclo.gs)
