This is such a great project! 💙
I would like to suggest some QOL GUI suggestion:

1️⃣ - Drag & Drop for the INPUT instead of manually browse for a file.

2️⃣ - Select OUTPUT File Container: .mp4 .mkv. .avi etc..
I.E. I use a .mp4 / .avi, more often, so every time I need to manually rename from .mkv

3️⃣ - By default: 'REMEMBER' and save the latest used:

  • File Container - (based on 2️⃣ suggested above)
  • Backend
  • Upscale Model
  • Interpolated
  • Interpolation Multiplier
  • Any upcoming options to come under the General Tab.

Maybe add a Reset to Default on the settings as default in case someone needs it, but most common usage will probably be with the same latest settings with minor tweaks.

I hope you will consider these, Thanks ahead! 🙏

Thanks for the ideas, reset settings is already in the GUI.

Another Suggestion:

Upscale by X but Keep the original source resolution when render.

This feature is very useful in many cases, the idea is simple:
First phase - Apply Super-Scale (upscale) to the source by x2 / x 4 etc..
Second phase - Keep to ORIGINAL source resolution when rendering the final result.
At the moment I do that manually, but I don't see any reason why it can't be automatic for QOL usage.

For example: if you upscale the source video by x2 you IMPROVE the look and then bring it back to the original resolution instead of double a 1080p res (with noise or low quality), you will improve it and final result will remain 1080p.

It's pretty similar to the "Slow Motion" option, by default it KEEPS the original length of video while enable it will double the length based on the input number x2 / x4 etc..

🙏 I hope you'll consider to add this feature: "keep original resolution" it could be a simple checkbox next to the "Upscale Model" selection option (or in the advanced tab).

I've been wanting to add that, and I think a check box would be easiest, I'll see how it goes later today.

Sounds great! 👍

Yet another QOL suggestion if you don't mind (I'm focusing mostly on UI/UX improvements):

A dedicated "UPDATE" button:
Will be nice to see on the main menu of the GUI.
Once pressed it will look where it's installed and update on the same directory to latest version.

Maybe even show "current version X.X" next to it or on the TOP-BAR where the name of the application is, (ignoring the right-side NEWS column which contain lots of text)

✅ - I suggest to position the button on the BOTTOM PANEL where the "GitHub Page" but on the LEFT-MOST side since it's not a LINK.
