Why yet another Span HACS repository?

When I first forked the Span repository my intent was to fix something that was causing instability and push those changes upstream. Thereafter I found a few more problems, fixed them and pushed a few upstream. A few enhancements have not been pushed upstream.

After some discussion with other HA developers I opted to use an organization and spread the ownership and have default write permissions in the hopes that no one person became a limiting factor. If you see something that you would like to fix, go for it - I didn't write the original code and I don't have any ego around this integration. If you want to introduce something big create a discussion and maybe you'll get some help.

I've put in a PR to make this repository a default HACS integration. I'm a seasoned developer but new to HA so hopefully I got that right. Right now https://github.com/gdgib/span is the default HACS for Span but it is several fixes behind so maybe it's abandoned. I've invited the owner here.

Thank you for doing this. Can you link to the HACS PR so we can upvote it, or is than not how HACS prioritizes their backlog?

The HACS PR is hacs/default#2560.

I don’t know how they prioritize their backlog. I don’t see anyway to upvote a PR. Staring this orgs’ repository would help with the sort in HACs.

As the maintainer of the fork that looked abandoned, I wanted to say HUGE thanks to you @cayossarian! Would you mind chiming in on https://github.com/haext/span/issues/55 when you get a chance. I want to consolidate, and I'm both impressed and grateful for your work.

Greg, you're welcome and I'm glad to see you haven't fallen off the earth. Technology, love it or hate it. I'm sure we all look forward to consolidation.
