how to hide/close onlinestore if use hydrogen?

after I build a site using hydrogen, do I need to close my online store? I still use the admin console of online store to edit product, write blog and others, and use API to display them in hydrogen site. and the checkout would jump to online store's checkout.

However, that means I end up with 2 sites, one is hydrogen, the other is actively maintained hydrogen site, the other the online store one. what's the best practice to handle the transition and keep all data?
