ADMS-AP is very centered around the assumption that binary code will be distributed.
However, open source software is mostly maintained in open access repositories (e.g. GitHub, GitLab etc.).
The documentation of ADMS-AP doesn't define how to reference a source code repository.
Some potential approaches I see:

  • Add a dedicated property to the asset class
  • Add 'repository' to range of dcat:mediaType on Asset Distribution. (my preferred option)

Until this issue is discussed, Joinup will implement it in the following way:
A custom application specific predicate on the asset class will point to the project page on the source code platform.
