Background

The new R900 server was installed with a basic proxmox instance, and placed into the RIT institute hall datacenter. We now need to work on configuring and securing this new server for future use.

Purpose

To have a secure proxmox instance

Steps

  • Fix R900 DHCP
  • Set up VPN for access to the proxmox
    • Set up 3rd party VPC
    • Generate WG config
    • Only allow proxmox access to R900 via VPC IP
  • Set iptables rules for only allowing SSH + VPN IP connections
  • Add eboard to VPN
  • Set up roles within Proxmox for eboard
  • Give SSH access to President, Projects Lead

Update for clarification: As of this comment Olympus is still just a barebones proxmox install. Fails to retrieve its static IP address upon restarts.
