This feature has been requested in the past (e.g. RGLab/flowWorkspace#211 , RGLab/flowWorkspace#197),

We want to be able to parse the gates from flowJo template and apply to the FCS files or GatingSet or cytoset

wst_gating("template.wspt", path_to_fcs)
wst_gating("template.wspt", gs)

We need to also investigate/decide whether/how to parse(and apply) the compensation and transformation from the template.

Is there any progress to report on this front, or any examples somewhere of how this can be accomplished? I am trying to engineer something similar (#139) and my efforts would benefit from an example of such.

Sorry we haven't had bandwidth to tackle this yet, and we don't have enough use cases to drive this either

I am also interested in this feature. Even if gating needs to be reviewed by a human later on, applying the same gates from a template or experiment to another would help reproducing experiments and analyzing high volumes of experiments.

If I were to sent a PR, where would be my best start point? Anything special to consider to add such function/method?
