The problem:

I'm getting "failed to initialize plugin" error (details in the picture below) on startup which makes the plugins not work.

To Reproduce:

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Uninstall MO2
  2. Install any MO2 release after 2.4.4 from the exe distributable
2,1 (Optional) Install the plugin for the game
  3. Launch the app

Environment:

  • Mod Organizer Version that exhibits the issue: 2.5.0 - 2.5.2
  • Last Mod Organizer Version that did not exhibit the issue (if applicable): 2.4.4
  • Desktop OS/version used to run Mod Organizer: Windows 10 Pro 22H2
  • 1280x1024 monitor in case it matters (someone suggested that it might not be supported)

Details:

I've been using the older MO2 version for years, but after shutting my PC down yesterday I'm getting this "failed to initialize plugin" error whenever I try to launch the app:

Tried to uninstall the program and update by installing the latest stable version, expecting the error to go away, but it's still there. Installing the required Visual C++ Redistributable version didn't help

UPDATE: Tried installing all the previous releases and even the pre-release 2.5.2 updates, and only 2.4.4 launched without error.

Link to Mod Organizer logs:

Can't access the logs because I haven't even set up the instance and when I'm trying to do so I get the "Unsupported game" error even though the plugins are installed.

USVFS:

Cannot find the log

MO Interface:

Cannot find the log

Do you use MO2 on an SSD? I do and after many days of trouble shooting I figured out that for some reason on my SSD, MO2 2.5 python scripts aren't able to load and are freezing. I can run MO2 2.5 on my other drives but not my SSD. I checked to see if it needed any driver updates and nothing come up. So I am going to buy a new SSD and hopefully that will be the fix.
