(this is a reminder for future so I won't forget)

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The "autorun" feature currently only makes MobiFlight enter "run" mode when it starts, but it does not actually make MobiFlight automatically start when the flight simulator starts.

I know this is often done with a batch file, or set to start automatically when the computer boots up, but for many people these things are not easy. And running MF all the time on the background regardless of whether you are flying the sim or not is not optimal either.

Describe the solution you'd like
It would be nice if there was a robust way we could start MobiFlight along with the simulator. There is the exe.xml feature in MSFS2020 that might work (link below to forum post) - maybe there is something similar for x-plane?

Describe alternatives you've considered
Make it work the other way around - rethink "AutoRun" to start MobiFlight in run mode and also start the simulator program.

The exe.xml for msfs is actually what seems to be used by

  • fsuipc
  • msfs popout panel manager
  • Aerosoft One

but since it is specific to msfs2020, I am thinking the alternative idea to start MF and then start the sim with it might actually work - it would work for all sims. Well, for flight sims at least :-)
