Land Battle blue cursors don't appear; game can't start

First of all, thank you for getting Land Battle to be in a much more stable state. It appears that it's now on par with the jzIntv emulator. I've done testing on this game and it appears that both the jzIntv emulator and the MiSTer core have issues doing anything in-game. The game is supposed to have a blue cursor appear for both players as shown in these gameplay videos:

I've clicked every button on both controllers and nothing seems to be happening except a beeping noise. It's possible that this is just a bad dump though.
