Perian on OS X Yosemite #11
Comments
You will need to use the older QuickTime Player 7 in order to use Perian for playback, as QuickTime in Mavericks and later wants files to be readable by AVFoundation. Also, more information for what you are trying to play, including codecs, would be appreciated. |
How to use an old player is determined not advantageous. If in the future the current function? |
There is currently no plans to expand Perian to extend the Mavericks and later version of QuickTime because there is no known way of expanding AVFoundation. If/when Apple makes it known that additional codecs can be added, then Perian will be able to be updated for more recent versions of OS X. Note that there other players out there, like VLC, which can play a wide range of audio and video formats. Sent from my iPhone

Good to know, thanks. I use a different player so far, of course. I have just tried to install a trial basis QT7, but I can use this apparently no longer under 10.10.1, for he will not be displayed anywhere even though the installation was successful. |
Will be coming a OS X Yosemite ready Version of Perian? Version 1.3.2 ca be installed, but QuickTime Player still convert many Minutes, then it plays a MKV, but there is no Sound.
