How is assigning gender to a female name sexualizing it? |

Using a linguistically gendered word for something is not the same as talking about it as though it were a person with a gender. Languages where nouns have genders also refer to tables and chairs and other inanimate objects with gendered words without anyone being confused that those objects have human genitalia. In particular, even in languages with gendered nouns, it is perfectly clear to everyone that just because something is grammatically masculine or feminine does not mean that it is an actual male or female person. Referring to "Julia" as if it were a person is not even problematic in itself (nor does the community standards document say that it is). The problem is and always has been people talking about "Julia" as though it were a woman and then implying that they might have sex with "her". The main reason it's suggested that people avoid talking about Julia as if "she" were a person is that as soon as someone does that, it seems irresistible for people to imply that someone is going to have sex with "her". This irresistible temptation seems to be oddly specific to things that are gendered as feminine. I have never once encountered anyone feeling compelled to make the same kind of sexual implication about the Stan DSL, for example. |

That may not be "genderize", so much as personify. I predict the nature of how that comes to be, will in fact not be changed by the particular contents of a text-file. However what you have done here is make it truly irresistible to disobey. |

I'm converting this to a discussion, since this doesn't have a direct actionable thing that needs to be done. |

Worth looking over this: https://github.com/exercism/julia/blob/main/CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md#exercism-code-of-conduct to see how we can implement some of these things for our CoC.
