This is what I'm using to survive this semester without having to stress about Word.

Installation

Install Pandoc
Install MiKTex (←if you're on Windows; for Linux use texlive and idk for Mac OS)
Download this

Usage

Write your essay like the template
Drag-and-drop your essay onto md2mla.bat
Your brand-new MLA formatted essay will be in the PDFs folder!
