Would it be better to display Project Title rather than Reference Identifier in the related activity section for a project #650

In the related activity section when our activity is a program we normally have a long list of child activity reference identifier, but our identifiers are all largely numeric such as 'DK-CVR-14723692-00108' so you don't really have any idea of what they are until you click through. I notice that some publishers actually make the project name part of the reference identifier and that solves that issue but we have tried to move away from doing that as it makes it impossible to change the project title later without also changing the reference id which is poor behaviour

Would it be a better idea to display the project title rather than reference id? It's not a super important thing but it does make it easier to see what is going on? There isn't any narrative element for related-activity where I can put the activity name instead

Thanks for raising this.

This was raised previously here #332 so the discussions there might be of interest.

Hi @notshi, thanks for that, hadn't see that before. If it's been around since 2016 it sounds like it is unlikely to be changed as there is too much other stuff to do and maybe not enough people use d-portal for this sort of info. From my point of view I love the idea of using a narrative element as it is super flexible but that is just another field for people to fill in if it isn't coming from their own systems

Thanks again for replying though. I'll have a think about changing our iati references to include the activity name instead as that helps a little (as in the example in the thread you linked to)

best wishes from here

Richard
