Hi everyone,

I will soon be archiving this repository. People should still be able to fork it if anyone want to try themselves at it but I will not be supporting it anymore. At the moment there are better alternatives. If you are wiz enough to have a philips hue you can use the alternatives as well. It's been fun while it lasted but for a while now I have moved to other coding languages and hobbies.

Alternatives you can try (my favorites) :

  • Home Assistant with a conbee (best option)
  • Home Assistant with Node-Red

Home Assistant is a home automation server that allow you to control your house automation stuff. For example you interconnect many devices like smart thermostats, lighting systems like LIFX and Philips Hue as well as many others all in one place. You can control your bulb and do basically the same thing you did with WinHue but better and much more stable. if you add a conbee on top of that you will be able to get rid of the piece of crap the Philips Hue bridge is as well as get rid of the cloud part. Conbee is a small device that looks like a usb drive that allow to control many zigbee devices like the hue bulb without the fuzz of the friend of hue crap. It even reproduce the Philips Hue Api so you could basically use WinHue with it.

https://www.home-assistant.io/ can be installed virtually anywhere like a raspberry pi or a virtual machine.
https://phoscon.de/en/conbee same as the bridge without the cloud aspect.

So have fun with them.

Note that I will not answer to support request anymore.
