ensure mean angles are calculated correctly

Currently mean angles for some parameters (e.g., rake) are calculated from the min and max using a simple arithmetic mean. This needs to be done with a correction that ensures the mean angle is halfway in between the max and min values (and with the correct direction), instead of simply the arithmetic mean.
