Screen becomes inverted

I recently tried to build my own copy of tinyGS to run on a Lilygo Lora v2. I had some issues (will open other issues for these) but now, reinstalled latest from the web installer, and the board starts up with the display with white text on black, and then switches to be inverted (most of the display is white, text/graphics in black). Is there a flag somewhere that has become set to make this happen? I'm guessing this is probably using more power than I'd like.
