Support for openid connect

Hi
Do I get it right, that this ext does not support "OpenID Connect" standard?
Is there a plan to add support for it here?

This extension is based upon the php-openid lib, see https://github.com/FriendsOfTYPO3/openid/tree/master/lib/php-openid.
As noted in https://github.com/openid/php-openid/blob/master/NEWS.md only the old standards are supported.
I assume this lib will never be updated to support OpenID Connect. I guess the same can be assumed for this extension.
