Extending VictoryArea beyond y=0

I'm working on using Victory to build this feature:

The issue I'm running into is getting the VictoryArea gradient to extend beyond y=0. I've tried extending the y domain to some arbitrary negative number and that gives me the extra space I need, but the gradient doesn't fill that space. Is there any way to build this and any advice on how to achieve this?

This is the compromise we've got going so far, but I'd really like to do deliver on the original design.

You might try adding a padding property to adjust the bottom, although you would likely need to absolute position the data underneath but that shouldn't be an issue

Thank you so much! I was able to use a combination of the VictoryArea and with your suggestion of the positioned background to achieve it.
