3. Have you secured that the element in the SVG matches the binary_sensors ID, or have you made the mapping in YAML, so ha-floorplan knows that you're trying to add binary_sensor.x to div-element y?

Note that the HA-sensor and the SVG text ID is not the same. I guess that's your problem?

Did you check what layer or order you had your rectangle in? I have floor textures in places and I have motion sensors on top of those. In Inkscape you will find the OBJECTS tab very useful as it shows you the different layers and the order of the objects in those layers

Its not just the layers you need to worry about but the objects within the layers. If you look at this you will see I have a number of layers but when a layer is expanded using the + then I can see all the objects within that layer.

Now looking at this image you will see I have an object labelled binary_sensor.living_room it is the round target in the image. Its sits on top of the sweethome image because it is higher in the list of objects. If you look closely you will also see a pink square covering the door below the target. That is labelled binary_sensor.living_room_door_contact If I had both of those showing then the target would appear on top of square because it is higher up in the object list. You can move objects in the list by clicking and dragging or by using those green arrows at the bottom.

I suspect the reason why you can see your path with the floor tiles off is because that part of your image becomes transparent and you are then seeing your path object BELOW your sweethome image?
