This issue was first experienced with a new out-of-the-box cell phone, with no SIM-card and "Google Location Accuracy" turned off, and kept inside. The cell phone was not able to locate it's own position (this confirmed from other mapping applications).

  • I could start SarSys, and use it for a long time. But once I pressed the "Location"-button in Map View, the application became slower and after some time stopped responding. No error messages were issued.

  • If I "hammered" on the "Location"-button in Map View, SarSys would stop responding av 10-20 seconds.

  • To use SarSys after ut hangs, I have to close the app, then start up again

My first idea is that the app will get a time-out or "null" value from the cell phones "location service" if the cell phone can not find it's location. This time-out or "null" value is not handled correctly, causing the app to become slower and then "hang".

STR:

  1. Turn off Google Location Accuracy
    Untitled2

  2. Turn off Location services

  3. Close SarSys

  4. Turn on Location Services

  5. Start SarSys

  6. Tap many many times on "Location" in Map View

This issue might be related to the issue earlier reported by @svenbruun, telling the the app made the cell phone slow when he was driving longer distances with the map functionality turned on.
