Installation problem

Dear
In the installation section, follow variables are required to add in the SOURCE.sh of cp-library. While no folder named "cpl-socket/lib" in the OpenFOAM folder. Is there any misunderstanding.
"FOAM_CPL_SOCKET_LIBBIN = $FOAM_INST_DIR/cpl-socket/lib
LD_LIBRARY_PATH = $FOAM_CPL_LIBBIN:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"

If I ignore this variable setting and "make" under the CPL-APP_OPENFOAM folder, the follow error are reported. Dose it result from last wrong operation?
/home/zh/CPL_APP_OPENFOAM/lib/libPstream.so: undefined reference to `ompi_mpi_comm_null'
