Maps for Windows Sample: Supposed to work?

Hi,
Grateful for the addition of the browser-view based map view support in Windows. Unfortunately, I'm getting "Catastrophic Failure" runtime error when try and run either of the Windows Map view samples. Are they supposed to work yet?
