Proposed:
Cases in which no observation objects are returned:

  • required argument is missing
  • translated query is not supported by data source
  • Example given datasource that supports VALIDATED and UNVALIDATED statistics

Discussion:
What about other ways to assess the fitness of the query? E.g., USGS plugin handles aggregation_duration v. statistic conflicts, especially with IV.
