Good day all, I have an issue with daylight exposure, not sure to understand how it works, , but difficult for me to dig into sources... My current setup : zwo asi224mc on Pi 4b Night setting is : fixed exposures of 45 seconds Daytime setting : I would like it to do "auto-exposure" during daytime..... I only set Auto-Exposure Brightness = 1 and the delay between images to 30000 (30 secs) for daytime. But so far when daytimle comes, my daytime images keep the same exposure as nighttime (45 secs), and so remain highly overexposed ! Only if I stop and restart allsky during daytime, here the daytime exposure is set automatically and is fine. I've not found anything in the logs... Any idea what I should do ? Ben |

@ben5763 look at the Wiki page on submitting Issues, and follow those directions. |

@ben5763 I need your log file to see what's happening. The Wiki for reporting issues mentions how to do that. When daytime comes, it should go into daytime auto-exposure mode, starting at whatever the last nighttime exposure was (probably 45 seconds in your case). As it gets lighter outside, the exposure should go down until it's less than a second during full daytime brightness. The default Auto-Exposure Brightness is 100; once we resolve your 45-second daytime exposure issue, you may want to set the brightness to 100 or somewhere close. FYI, /etc/raspap/camera_options_ZWO.json simply tells the WebUI what to display and in what order. The WebUI gets the settings from /etc/raspap/settings_ZWO.json. You should never need to deal with or look in those files, unless you're just curious how things work. |

Here is a clean log of last 24 hours. Endofnight stuff is on 30/07 at 7h26. Daytime exposure starts at 45secs as you mentioned. But obviously it does not try to change exposure. Sems to try to change only gain. But in reality, note that ALL the daytime pictures are taken at 45 sec / gain=0 / brightness=1. Like if it did not succeed in tuning anything. Maybe a parameter out of range ? |

@ben5763 Please grab the latest src/capture.cpp file (or ideally, all the latest files) from Git. Copy capture.cpp to allsky/src, then:
If you still see the problem, please attach your log file. I noticed your "locale" is set to en_US.UTF-8. You should change it to yours. It's causing the |

Happy new year !! Moreover to all of you who work on allowing us to do all this stuff with our cameras :-) I did not succeed in making capture only. Error code when compiling. Than I messed up trying to do an update while saving my files and parameters... finished with nothing working anymore... so I restarted from a fresh PI system. All seems Ok, I don't have the problem anymore. Corrected also the locale issue. |
