Allsky startup #712
-
So I have the allsky program operational on the Raspberry Pi. I have gui installed. All works fine and I can sign in using the ssh from my laptop and or tablet. The issue is on powering up the Allsky I would have to hookup a monitor and keyboard to open allsky on the Pi. Shouldn't allsky be opened when the allsky camera and the Pi are powered up so I can SSH in using the tablet or laptop? |

@kenkolen-neal, did you follow the instructions on the main GitHub page, near the bottom, in the Usage section? They mention how to have "allsky" start when the Pi boots. |

I did read that, first it says that by default it will auto start. It didn’t.
Then I tried the ***@***.*** ~ $ sudo systemctl enable allsky.service then I changed directory to allsky and tried the same. Neither received a response.

@kenkolen-neal,
then the next line says: @linuxkidd, Michael, can you check if the commands above are part of the installation of Allsky, or if the user has to manually enter them (in which case I suggest the installation does it)? |

Indeed, the commands to enable the service on boot is part of the make install process of the config_repo section.

@kenkolen-neal,
I see what you say. The README.md file says you have to run these commands to enable the service:
then the next line says:
Note:* The service is enabled by default after installation.
@linuxkidd, Michael, can you check if the commands above are part of the installation of Allsky, or if the user has to manually enter them (in which case I suggest the installation does it)?
