take a look at http://pairdrop.net

it does webRTC and some logic to look at local IPs to filter that out in the display.

But also the idea of 'rooms'

I wonder if we really should step back and think how we want this to all work

How could we make a display more secure? 2FA? But adds to soo much complexity (I wonder about using BLE first and foremost. see BLE connection #5 ) and then having a "Do you allow sender to connect? If so write the pin number shown"
Persistence needs thinking about.
