how to add actions to control thrust?

what would be the best way to define actions for controlling the thrust of the satellite? predefined ways to control thrust? And are there ways to control thrust in a continuous manner or does it have to be a discrete value?

There is currently a work in progress branch feature/144-relative-motion that adds this feature, but I can't guarantee that that implementation will remain stable until it's pushed to the main branch of the repo.
